game of fortune telling and the
fate of each foretold good news.
After playing several games Bev

nett led in singing Camp Fire
songs.
The girls had as their guests
their leaders, Mrs. Trannie Boozer,
Mrs. Lois Webb and Mrs. Wallace.

Big Hallowe'en Carnival
Friday night the auditorium of
Providence school was the scene of
a Hallowe’en carnival, sponsored
by the teachers and the Lydia
Woman’s club. Goblins, witches,
clowns and Gypsies roamed all
over. The carnival began with a
grand march, where a hundred or
more competed for prizes. A suave
Mexican, (who said he was a
Mexican), four year old Harvey
Shumate, was the winner in the
small dhikiren’s march. Larry
Fincher and Guekla Tucker won
prizes in their group.
The food booth was swamped at
all times and hot dogs reigned su
preme. A nice sum was realized
and will be used in the comfnun
ity.
