Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Pitts had Mr, and Mrs, John Robert Lynn of Detroit, Mich., as Wednesday night dinner guests. Bruce Stewart of Knoxville, Tenn., and Jimmy Stewart of Wof ford college, Spartanburg, were week-end visitors of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tot Stewart. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Stewart had Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fitzgerald of Donaldson Air Force Base, Green ville, as dinner guests. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Buchan an visited Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Tay lor in Jackson boro and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Craven in Charleston over the week-end. • Mr. and Mrs. Lee Bridges and daughter of Ninety-Six, visited Mr. and Mrs. J. D. O’Dell Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Lowman, Jr., and son of Greenwood, visited Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Lowman, Sr., Sun day. Later both families visited Mr. and Mrs. Watson Padgett in Newberry. Mr. and Mrs. George C. Jones and children, Leslie and Lynn, of Roanoke Rapids, N. C., were Sun day dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil O’Dell. Later Mr. and Mrs. Jones aijd family and Mr.«and Mrs. O’Dell and family visited Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Craft in Siiverstreet. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Lewis and son, Jerry, spent the week-end in Clarksville, Ga., with the latter’s parents. Mrs. Sallie Crocker of Whitmire, spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. John Gaskin. Mrs. Ansley C. Watts of George town, spent the week-end with her brother, G. N. Foy, and Mrs. Foy Mr. and Mrs. Foyd accompanied Mrs. Watts to Columbia upon her return home. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Parrish and family of Williston, visited the lat ter’s parents, Mr and Mrs. Ben Dean, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. W:-W. Niver, "Tr., and family spent the week-end in Westminster with the latter’s par ents, Mr. and Mrs. A. N. Pritchard. Mr. and Mrs. Niver and son, W. W. Niver, III, attended the homecom ing game at Clemson Saturday. On Friday Mrs. Lula Weir was the overnight guest of her grand daughter, Miss Bonnie Pitts, in Co lumbia. Miss Pitts is employed in a secretarial position with J. Louis Moseley Insurance company. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Craven' and Mrs. A. S. Holt visited L. B. Trout man at the Veteran’s hospital in Columbia Sunday. Little Jackie Hunnicutt spent the week-end with •'Mr. and Mrs. Harold M. Rhodes in Laurens. Mr. and Mrs. Rhodes accompanied Jackie home Sunday and were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hunnicutt. Miss Dorothy Cr.rr of Winthrop college, Rock Hill, spent Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Carr. Mr. and Mrs. William Beckam spent the week-end in Greenwood with their son, W. G. Beckam, and Mrs. Beckam. With Th« Sick Curtis Morris was a patient at Joanna hospital several days last week. Ross ex tend deepest sympathy to Mrs. Ross and family in the passing of her sister, Mrs. Ida C. Clarke of Greenville on Monday. Funeral services were held at the Mackey Mortuary in Greenville Tuesday at 3:30. Other than the family those attending the services were Rev. Joe Giles, Mesdames E. H. Hun nicutt, J. J. Abrams and Miss Kitie Mac Moseley. Baptist Choirs Entertained The combined choirs of the Bap tist church met Monday evening in Newberry with Misses Mary Ellen Fowler and Eleanor Blum- berg. Following the practice a so cial hour was enjoyed. The host esses served fancy assorted sand wiches, party cookies, mints, chips and punch buffet style from an at tractively appointed table. Birth Announcement Stewart Of much interest to their friends in Joanna is the following an nouncement, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Stewart of Columbia, formerly of Joanna, announce the birth of a daughter, Leslie, at Providence hospital on Seijt. 29. The Ropers.’’ Visitors at Epworth Fourteen members of the Fisher man’s club of Whaley Street Meth odist church, Columbia, met with the Epworth church Fisherman's Sunday at 5 o’clock at the church. The group stayed over for the re vival service and rendered a mes sage in song, “Victory In Jesus,” with Mrs. Harmon Murrah at the piano. The Mitchells Entertain Mr. and Mrs. P. B. Mitchell en tertained a group of friends Satur day evening at their home in the Musgrove community with one of the loveliest parties of the sea son. Approximately 50 guests were present, which included members of the main office force and their families and friends. Throughout the spacious home were huge floral arrangements of deep pink gladioli with purple and pink asters. These artistic ar- arangements were a birthday gift to Mrs. Mitchell from Mr. Mitchell. Assisting the hostess in enter taining were Mrs. Olie Wrenn, Miss Linda Buchanan, Mrs. Doc Buch anan and Miss Eugenia Byars. Refreshments of ham biscuits, assorted sandwiches of meats and sweets, cheese wafers, party dain ties, olives, pickles, congealed sal ad and iced drinks were served buffet style. „ Rowland Reunion The Rowland reunion was held at Oconee state park near Walhalla Sunday with about 200 guests present'. A program of mi*ic and singing was rendered by Mr. and Mrs. James Evans. Misses Hazel and Peggy Wehunt, Willie Mae Murrah, Rachel Morgan and Judy Simmons, all of Joanna. The family and friends attending from Joanna were Mr. and Mrs. Sloan Rowland, Mr. and Mrs. Mas on Rowland, Mrs. Frances Goodlin' and daughter, .Cherry, Mr. and Mrs.' Roy Boyce, Bobby Boyce, Mr. and Mrs. E.
