man at the Veteran’s hospital in
Columbia Sunday.

Baptist Choirs Entertained
The combined choirs of the Bap
tist church met Monday evening
in Newberry with Misses Mary
Ellen Fowler and Eleanor Blum-
berg. Following the practice a so
cial hour was enjoyed. The host
esses served fancy assorted sand
wiches, party cookies, mints, chips
and punch buffet style from an at
tractively appointed table.

Fourteen members of the Fisher
man’s club of Whaley Street Meth
odist church, Columbia, met with
the Epworth church Fisherman's
Sunday at 5 o’clock at the church.
The group stayed over for the re
vival service and rendered a mes
sage in song, “Victory In Jesus,”
with Mrs. Harmon Murrah at the

The Mitchells Entertain
Mr. and Mrs. P. B. Mitchell en
tertained a group of friends Satur
day evening at their home in the
Musgrove community with one of
the loveliest parties of the sea
son. Approximately 50 guests were
present, which included members
of the main office force and their
families and friends.
Throughout the spacious home
were huge floral arrangements of
deep pink gladioli with purple and
pink asters. These artistic ar-
arangements were a birthday gift
to Mrs. Mitchell from Mr. Mitchell.

Linda Buchanan, Mrs. Doc Buch
anan and Miss Eugenia Byars.
Refreshments of ham biscuits,
assorted sandwiches of meats and
sweets, cheese wafers, party dain

ad and iced drinks were served
buffet style.

The Rowland reunion was held
at Oconee state park near Walhalla
Sunday with about 200 guests
