Orangeburg, Aug. 18. — The con
gregation "of the First Presbyterian
church of Orangeburg Sunday called
the Rev. Hubert G. Wardlaw, of Lan
caster, to be pastor of the church.
The Rev. Mr. Wardlaw, formerly
pastor of churches in Whitmire, Con
way and Franklin, N. C.. has been
pastor of the Lancaster Presbyterian
church three years. He was educated (
at Presbyterian college and Colum-j
bia Theological seminary.
Mrs. Wardlaw is the former Annie
Lee Jackson of Clinton. The Ward-]
laws have one son. Gee, eight.

| daughter’s sixth birthday.
The little guests enjoyed a pea
nut scramble and surprise box,
with each child pulling a string for
a favor. Carol received many
lovely gifts. Ice- cream, cake and
salted nuts were served by Mrs.
Parrish, assisted by Mrs. Ed. Wil
liams. Ms. Perry Parrish and Betty
