Jenkins of Joanna. Hearn Voted National Award By Civitans Henry T. Hearn of Winston-Sal em, N. C., has been awarded a gold key by Civitan International for outstanding service to the Civitan organization during the past 10 years. The key, set with 12 rubies, was awarded at the national convention of Civitan clubs at ~ Detroit last week. Notified that he had been voted the award, Mr. Hearn left | immediately by plane for Detroit, ; where the presentation was - made ' at the annual banquet. Along with : the award was a framed citation. The key is in recognition of Mr. i Hearn’s work in organizing 12 new Civitan clubs while governor of the North Carolina Civitan District Jn 1947-48, for visiting the clubs from time to time after the close of his administiation, and for continued service to Civitan Only five keys are awarded each year by Civitan International and only one can be received in any district. It is Civitan’s highest award.
