Taylor.
Miss Carolyn Taylor, Jerry and
Bobby Taylor of Laurens, spent
the week-end with Mr. and Mrs.
G. W. Taylor.
Gloria Jean Owens has returned
home after visiting relatives in
Langley for several weeks.
Mrs. Frankie Brown and Miss
Virginia Owens are spending two
weeks with Mr. Brown in Long
Beach. Calif.

Puffalo, spent Sunday with Mr.

W. R. Thomas filled the pulpit of
Bailey Memorial church Sunday in
the absence of the pastor, Rev. W.
R. Terry, who is away at pastor’s
school.
Mr. and Mrs. Brevard Patterson
and children spent Sunday in Fort
Mill with Mrs. John Patterson.
Lmda and Willie Nell Gruber of
Joanna are visiting Colie and
Francis Graham this week.
Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Braswell, Sr.,
visited Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Bragg
in Joanna Sunday.
Mrs. Wirt Jennings, Jr., and
Michael of ’Greenville, are visiting
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Braswell this
week. Mr. and Mrs. Jennings are
moving to Columbia to make their
home.

Birthday Party Given
Emilie Littleton’s sixth birthday
was observed Saturday afternoon.
June 21, at a party given by her
mother, Mrs. R. L. Littleton, at
their home on Bluford street-
After enjoying games the guests
were served pink lemonade, cook
ies, cakes and ice cream.' Each
guest remembered Emilie with a
gift. The guest list included Jun
ior and Carolyn Finley, Jeanette
and Betty Jean Lee, Melarie and
Brenda Woody, Naomi Brewing-
ton, James Nelson, Joe Calk,
Charles Brown, Martha, Joe and
Jerry Littleton.
Camping “Daxe" Arm Hare Again
It’s time to head toward the
mountains again for a few days of
fun and fellowshflp. The Camp
fire, Hori7ons, and Bluebird girls
will leave for. Camp * Buckhorn,
Paris Mountain, on Monday morn
ing, July 21, and return on the 23.
A full program of pleasure and
recreation is planned for all who
make the trip.
July 4th Celebration
Watch your paper next week for
the Fourth of July Field day. We
v are planning a god time for every
one. A group prize will be given.
You will not have to cook that day
because the Woman’s club will
serve a lunch and stew. The find
contest will start at the softball
field at 8:00.
Male Chorus
The male chorus will practice
every Wednesday at 1 o'clock at
the Community building. If you
like to sing and have not yet join
ed this group. You are invited. 1
Youth Night
This Saturday evening at 7:30
at the Community building Youth
Night will be resumed and young
people ?re invited. Light refresh
ments Will be served by the host
esses of the community.
Curtain At Academy Street School
The beautiful stage curtain
which has added much to the en
tertainment and programs present
ed in the auditorium of Academy
Street school in the oast year was
a project undertaken by the Wom
an’s club. They had had a few
donations, but most of the cost of
$588.00 was earned by giving din
ners for clubs, etc. The Woman’s
club wishes to thank the Men’s
club for making the last payment
of $83. thus completing the proj
ect. They also appreciate what
each and everyone has done to help
make this project a success. For
the past two years this club has
been working with the school and
doing a wonderful work. This
year’s officers are: President, Mrs.
J. V. Lowe; 1st Vice-President,
Mrs. J. R. Arnold; 2nd Vice-Presi
dent, Mrs. Joe Cooper; Secretary,
Mrs. Oscar Kinard; Treasurer, Mrs.
Clinton West.
