Baptist Ladies Meet The Mabel Moorhead circle of the Baptist church held its April meeting in the educational building Tuesday evening. Mrs. Harold Murphy had the de votional and led the program on the»Baptist work in Hawaii. Willingham announced the divisional meeting to be held at Springfield Baptist church on April 15. The final plans were made for prayer meetings in the homes preceding the revival which will start April 20 and run through the 27th. A sweet course with drinks and small baskets of candy eggs were served by the hostesses, Mrs. Ruth Thomas, Mrs. Mason Rowland and Mrs. Marion Boyce. Moose Lodge Enjoys Banquet Members of the Loyal Order of Moose and invited guests enjoyed a turkey dinner at Joanna club Saturday evening. Places were laid for 150. The white covered tables were attractively decorated with artistic arrangements of pastel colored snapdragons, fenj, Easter bunnies and nests of eggs. Rolfe Clark, governor of the lodge, was master of ceremonies and presented R. L. Francis with a lifetime membership award.. The annual penny collection for the Moose endowment fund was taken. George Sineath gave the Moose prayer in closing. The tables were removed from the assembly room and square dancing was enjoyed. Murrah, Sr., of Newberry, visited relatives in Joanna Saturday. John Gaskin spent the week-end in Camden with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Crodker. Mrs. John Burnett. Jr., and son, of Wichita Falls, Texas, spent last week with Mr. and Mrs. John Bur nett, Sr. Mr. and Mrs. William Kitchen of Newberry, joined the family for the week-end. Mrs. Ruby Richey of Greenwood, spent the week-end with her sister, Miss Georgie Lewis. Melvin Simth of Jacksonville. Fla., spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Shuford Lewis. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Franzen and family spent the Easter holidays in Florida. Arto and Crafts Mealing Mrs. Jo Lambert has announced there will be no meeting Thursday of the Arts and Crafts class, but the class will meet Friday night at 7 o’clock. Softball Laagua A girls softball league has re cently been organized embracing Clinton, Joanna, Laurens, Whit mire and Watts Mills. Games wiH 1 be played Monday and Thursday afternoons at 4 o’clock. On Mon day Joanna defeated Whitmire 33 to 15. The game today will be played at Joanna with Whitmire. There is no admision and the public is invited. Lowman-Honeycutt Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Lowman, SF., announce the marriage of their daughter, Jo Nell, to ' Cpl Merl David Honeycutt of Charlotte, N. C., on April 1. The ceremony was performed at York in the presence of dose Mrs. Frances Giles, pianist, and Mrs. Rolfe Clark, soloist. Mrs. Giles played ‘The Rosary,” and ”Ah, Sweet Mystery.” Mrs. Clark sang “I Love You Truly,” arid “In dian Love Call.” The bride entered with her brother, James Marshall, by whom she was given in marriage. She chose for her wedding a soft blue suit with pink accessories and car ried a satin-covered Bible topped with a white orchid and showered with satin streamers. Her matron of honor was her sister, Mrs. Van Prater. She was attired in a pink suit and carried a nosegay of mixed spring flowers in pastel shades.
