Participated In
Conservation Program
In 1951 1,420 Laurens county
farmers participated in the Agri
cultural Conservation program,
earning $113,527.90 by carrying out
approved soil building and soil
conserving practices, according to
H A. Ropp, Administrative Officer.
Mr. Ropp stated that this is a
program of the United States De
partment of Agriculture which is
engaged in a broad attack on the
soil and water conservation prob
lems of farm lands of the nation
