Miss Willena Lovelace spent
several days in Charleston last

her home this week with flu.
Mrs. Nellie Gilliam has been ill
with flu for two weeks.
Eddy Norris, son of Mr. and Mrs.
E. E. Norris, ynderwent an appen
dectomy March 26th at Joanna hos
pital.
James Ray Kelly, infant son of
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kelly, has re
turned home after being hospitaliz
ed for treatment at the local hos
pital.
On March-26th little Jackie Shipp
underwent an appendectomy at the
local hospital.
Mrs. Andy Gosnell is a patient at
Joanna hospital.
Wayne Crapps is a patient at the

blue decorations and blue burning
candles. The little girls blew the
candles out together as their
friends sang ‘Happy Birthday.”
Mrs. Davenport assisted by the
twins’ grandmother, Mrs. Swannie
Wicker, served ice cream and cake.
The twins were the recipients of
many gifts.
Basketball Banquet
The basketball teams of Joanna
school enjoyed a banquet at the
club house Thursday night. The
guest table was centered with >
large arrangement of snapdragons
in pastel shades and greenery. The
other tables were attractively dec
orated with pink and white spring
flowers. John I. Moore was master
of ceremonies and Mrs. J. C. Lam
bert presented silver basketballs to
the Midget girls that atended he
