end with her son and daughter-

and attended the annual banquet
and breakfast of the South Caro
lina Press association.
Friends of Marion Nabors will
be interested to know he has re
covered after an operation illness
and is able to be out again.
Lt. and Mrs. Brooks Copeland
and small daughter, Mary Lynn, of
Fredericksburg, Va., spent the

companied them home for a few

The little lad was playing in the
yard where his father was work
ing on a tractor and his mother
was in the home. Glancing out
she saw no David and the parents
began searching the premises fo#
the child. Later one of the dogs
Joe, arrived oa the back porch and
aroused the fear that the lad was in
the swamp.
The father and neighbors who
gathered to assist in the search,
went to the swamp and saw David,
his head about a hundred yards
from dry land, clutching “Scrap-
