Entertains Friends
With Card Party
Mrs. Ed Walters, who is resid
ing here with her mother, Mrs.
F. M. Stutts, while Lt. Walters is
sevring with the armed forces in
Korea, entertained a group of
friends with a card party on Fri
day evening.
Several tables were arranged for
canasta which was played through
out the evening. A dessert course
ered on Thursday afternoon at the
home of Mrs. D. O. Rhame for a
number of afternoon games.
Two tables were in play with top
and bufbs for the spring season.
An open discussion and questions
followed the talks.
During the social hour a sweet
course was served by the hostess
and assistant hostesses, Mrs. Frank
Ramage, chairman, Mrs. A. G: Su
therland, Jr., Mrs. Lewis Wallace,
honor being won by Mrs. Kenneth Mrs. Brown and Mrs. League.

Celebrates Birthday
Bill Rowland, son of Mr. and
Mrs, Jasper Rowland -observed his
ninth birthday, on Wednesday, the
20th of February. In celebration of
the occasion he invited members of
his cub Scout den for a weiner
roast late in the afternoon.
A number of games and contests
were enjoyed by the twelve guests
attending. Later weiners and
marshmallows were roasted over
an open fire and served witherpic-

her home on 'Woodrow street.

mellias, different types and their
cultivation.
Following the program a social
hour was enjoyed and the hostess
group, Mrs. Jack W. Anderson,
chairman, served a refreshment
course.
Members of the Ins Unit, Mrs.
John Stevenson, chairman, met at
the home of Mrs. Sam Gray. As
sistant hostesses were Mrs. A. M.
Cannon, Mrs. J. C. Thoanas, and
Mrs. Frank Fowler.
An oriental theme was carried.

tion corsage was given the honoree
and after lunch the gifts were pre
sented in a basket gaily decorated,
emphasizing the bridal theme in
the chosen color note.
Miss Fleming was also remem
bered by the hostesses with china
in her chosen pattern. Mrs. Mim
naugh is to be a bridesmaid in the
wedding.
