J. Revival Meeting To Be Held
J A revival meeting will begin Sun
day at Pentecostal Holiness church.
The Rev. Miss Mildred Blake of
Greer, is the invited evangelist. Ser
vices will held*each evening at 7:00
o’clock. The pastor, Rev. James
A. Williams, and members of the
church extend a cordial welcome to
the public to attend. *
Enjoys Surprise Party
The young people of the Church
of God gave Mrs. J. B. Cole a sur
prise birthday party Saturday at
Mary Lou ranch. A delightful sup
per was served and everyone re
membered her with a gift.

Woman’s Club To Meet
The Woman’s club will meet
Monday evening at 7:30 a tthe Com
munity Building. A discussion on
“China, Crystal and Silver,” by J. C.
Thomas, will be the special feature.
The speaker will bring with him a
variety of patterns in each field.
Babb To Head '52
Red Cross Drive ^ '
Thomas A. Babb, Laurens attor
ney, has been named chairman of
the 1952 Red Cross drive for the new
year. The announcement was made
by T. W. Glenn, executive secretary
of the Laurens - County chapter of
the American Red Cross, with (he
anuual campaign for funds to be
made in March.
The county’s quota has not yet
been set, .Mr. Glenn said. Last
year it was $9,200, with the cam
paign headed by 1 Dwight F. Patter
son, well known.Laurens banker. •
Hobby Club Hold! Meet
The Hobby clu meets each Tues*-
day evening at the Community
Building at 7:00 o’cldck.
To Hold Banquet
Members of the James B. Parrott
Chapter, No. 8, will have their ban
quet a tthe Community Building
Friday^ evening, January 18. This
banquet precedes the inspection
which will be at the Temple. Their
guests will include the Worthy
Grand Matron, Mrs. Roy Alley; the
Worthy Grand Patron, Derrell Me- 1
Millan, and other Grand officers.
The banquet will be served by the
Woman’s club.
Camera Club Meets
The Camera club held its first
meeting at the Community Building
Monday night.
There were 14 men present for this
organizational m e e t im g. Officers
were elected as follows: Joe Cooper,
president; Clark Meadors, vice-pres
ident; E. C. Hauphsletter, secretary
and treasurer.
After a brief business session the
subject of the evening, “Types of
Cameras and When To Use Them,”
was discussed. Mr. Cooper gave
examples and illustrations. It was
decided that the Camera club would
meet every second and fourth Fri
day of the month at 7 o’clock. Any-
ente interested in photography is in
vited to join.
