SCHOOL DAY AT THE FAIR
By Adeline
Forth into the fairgrounds straight
way,
Singly and in groups ran the chil
dren.
Laughing, with their coins and tick
ets,
And the midway roared round them,
o’er thenri,
I “Come and spend those coins, school
children."
Whirred the swings, the Little Dip-
Thcre to prepare for school tomor
row.
There, at school with pencil poised.
Poised lightly above the paper, ^
Frowned and wrote a single head
line—
“Title—School Day at the Fair."
