Legion Auxiliary In
First Fall Meeting
The September meeting of the
American Legion Auxiliary was
held on Tuesday afternoon at the
First Presbyterian church with 19
members present.
The newly installed president,
Mrs. Alvin Trammell, presided, and
presented the program on “Music.”
Beth Trammell rendered two piano
selections, “Winter Carnival” and
“Narcissus." Later the group join
ed in singing several numbers.

84th Birthday
On Thursday afternoon, Sept. 13,
Mrs. W. G. King, Sr., entertained
with a party at her home on Cen
tennial street honoring Mrs. B. L.
King on her 84th birthday, and
assembling 15 friends of the hon-
oree.
Throughout the King home early
fall flowers, marigolds, zinnias and
roses, were artistically arranged.

In Orlando Rites
Orlando, Fla., Sept. 15.—Miss
Nancy Elizabeth Dendy, daughter
of Dr. and Mrs. Marshall Coleman
Dendy, of Orlando, was united in
marriage with Dallas Martin Ryle,
Jr., of Fort Worth, Texas, son of
Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Ryle of Perry,
Ga., at the First Presbyterian
church here Tuesday, Sept. 11, at 8
p. m.
Officiating clergyman was the;
bride’s father, assisted by her
uncle, Rev. Wilkes Dendy, of Dal
ton, Ga.
Given in marriage by her broth
er, Marshall Dendy, Jr., the bride'
was gowned in traditional white
satin, the dress being fashioned
with a basque waist scalloped to a
full back with covered bottons.
The yoke of illusion was outlined
with lace, sequins, and seed pearl
applique, and the same motif was
used on the long pointed sleeves.
She wore a veil of Brussels lace
attached to a small satin hajf-hat.
Her bridal bouquet was of white
roses and stephanotis, centered
with a white orchid.
For traveling she wore a gold
suit trimmed in black velvet, and
black accessories, with the orchid
1937-1951 .
