Scouts at Court of Honor
Tuesday, June 19th twelve Scouts
along with Scoutmaster L. C. Fick-
lin, and Assistant Scoutmaster
Clark Meadows, atended the Lau
rens District Court of Honor at the
Court House in Laurens. Eight boys
were promoted to second class

Mrs. Mary J. Raasa Passat
Mrs. Mary J. Reece, 78, wife of
I. H. Reece, died Friday at a Co
lumbia hospital after several years
of declining health. Shf was a na
tive of Tennessee but had made
her home in Clinton for a number
of years.
She is survived by her husband,
I. H. Reece of Clinton; three sons,
Elisha and Tommy Reece of Lau
rens and Jesse Reece of Clinton;
two daughters, Mrs. Birdie Willis
of Clinton apd Mrs. Samatha
Prince of Clinton; one sister. Mrs.
Lizzie Turner of Canton, N. C., one
brother, Jesse Roberts of Tennes
see; 16 grandchildren and seven
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted
Sunday afternoon at the Fire Bap
tized Holiness church by the Rev.
Fred Rowe and the Rev. Roy Russ.
Interment followed in Rosemont
cemetery here.
Laurens Musicians Give Program
For Melody Club
The Melody club and invited
guests were entertained with a
musical program given by five out
standing musicians from Laurens,
Friday, June 22, at the Commun
ity house. The following program
was given:

Geo. Sheppard, Mrs. Geo. McDaniel
and Miss Lila Teal, accompanied
at the piano by Mrs. John K. Tay

Teal, accompanied by Mrs. Taylor.)
