Dinner Honors Bride-Elect

chicken dinner in honor of Miss
Louise Ridings who will become
the bride of W. C. Bennett of Cross
Keys, at the Community house
Saturday evening.
Th? guests were invited into the
dining room where dinner was
served at beautifully appointed
tables by Mrs. Brooks Dunaway.
Miss Polly Brazel and other mem
bers of the choir.
Miss Ridings was presented a
gift from the members of sterling
silver candle holders by Mrs. Joe
Campbell, president.
Later in the evening a social
hour and a television program
were enjoyed.
Birthday Dinner Given
The immediate family of Mrs.
Ann Leopard of near Saluda, gath
ered for a picnic birthday dinner
honoring Mrs. Leopard on her 81st
birthday recently. There were
76 guests present and each one
remembered her with a gift. Mr.
and Mrs. Hubert Leopard and chil
dren of this city attended.
Campfire Group Visits Telephone
Office
A group of girls from the Oty-
oka group was taken by their
guardian, Mrs. John Holland, to
the telephone office last Wednes
day to see the operators at their
work. The girls found this trip
very interesting and enjoyable.
They were then taken to Laurens
by Rev. and Mrs. Holland where
they enjoyed refreshments.
A trip to Greenville is planned
to visit places of interest and en
joy a picnic at one of the parks. *

Brazel
Sgt. and Mrs. Edgar O. Brazel
announce the birth of a son, Cecil
Edgar, at the Ford Ord hospital in
California May 17. Mrs. Brazel is
the former Miss Mildred Windsor
of this city.
- Shower For Mrs. Lee
Mrs. W. E. Braswell entertained
at her home on Gordon street with
a household shower for Mrs. Rob
ert Lee, whose home burned re
cently. The lady employees of
spinning on the first shift were
hostesses. Refreshments of punch
and wafers were served. Mrs. Lee
received many useful gifts.
Birthday Party for Little Boy
Mrs. W. O, McGee and Mrs. Jean
Cauble gave a birthday party Fri
day tor little Jerry McGee who
was 7 years old May 21. Several
games were played. Mrs. Cauble,
assisted Mrs. McGee in serving.
Each guest remembered Jerry with
a gift.
