Mrs. Marion Neighbors | Mrs. Ella Nance and Calvin Cooper were instrumental in directing and planning this festival in honor of the May Queen. The Queen. Miss Carolyn Roof, and her maid of honor, Miss Cor nelia Roberts, were chosen by a popular vote of the seventh grade students. Miss Roof was beautiful in white satin with a crown of gold ornaments with red hearts. She carried an arm bouquet of red glad ioli. Miss Roberta wore green or- gandv and carried an arm bouquet of pink gladioli. The King (Dale Sellers), was resplendent in royal purple with ermine bands. Lydia Boys and Girls Enter State Track Maet The third annual state track meet of the South Carolina Recrea- April 28 at 10 o’clock. The meet tion association met in Florence was held at the air base stadium and sponsored by the city reefea- tion department of Florence in co- oner ation with the city schools, YMCA and the South Carolina Industrial School. The Clinton and Lydia Mills are sponsorship members of the asso ciation and entered two teams in the meet. The Midgets and Mites took part in the 100 and 60 yard dashes for boys. 50 and 60 yard dashes for girls. Girls standing broad jump and softball throw.
