Attend STA Meeting
On Saturday Messrs. Joe Delan
ey, D. J. Buchanan, Rolfe Clark,
fend E. J. Willingham attended the
, l^outh Carolina division of the
Southern Textile association in
Greenville. The meeting was held
at Parkr high school. Mr. Dlaney
was asked to take part in a panel
discusion on slashing and weaving.

night during the revival for small

released from the hospital and

surgery at Joanna hospital.

Group No. 3 To Moot
Mrs. Norman Floyd asks that
members of her group, No. 3, meet
at the club Monday evening at
6:30. The purpose is for planning
refreshments for the May meetinf.
Ninth Grade Will Bo Honored
Thursday night, April 26, moth
ers of ninth grade pupils will en
tertain for them with a banquet at
Joanna club. This is an annual af
fair and will be at 6:30 o’clock.

Revival at Epworth Church
Rev. James G. Stroud, a former
Joannian, will return to lead re
vival services at Epworth Metho
dist church April 30 to May 6. Ser
vices will be at 7:30 each evening
and there will be morning services
on Thursray and Friday
Mr Stroud was living in Joanna
in 1930 whn he accepted the call
to preach Since that time he has
served churches at Landrum. Star-
tex and Graniteville. where he is
now pastor of St. John's Methodist
church. In addition he has been
in demand as an evangelist. The
revival in Joanna will be the 93th
in which he has preached

Galloway of Trenton, will lead the
singing during the meeting. Mr.
Galloway and the Epworth choir

evening

Miss Johnson Honord
One of the loveliest parties of
the season was a miscellaneous
shower complimenting Miss Veraj
Johnson, young bride-elect, on'
Monday night at Joanna club. Thej
club rooms were decorated with
English dogwood and ather green
and white spring flowers. Presid
ing at the bride’s register was Mrs.
Marion Crowder. Mrs. Cutis Salt
ers led the games and entertain-!
ment. Those winning prizes were
Mesdames Marie Wehunt, Juanita
Davenport, R. L. Francis and Miss
Mildred Bozard.
Miss Johnson was attired in a
brown taffeta dress and was pre
sented a corsage of bronze carna
tions with matching ribbon. Her
chair was covered in white.
The hostesses, a group of close
friends, served a salad course,
sandwiches, other party dainties
and coffee.
The honoree received a shower
of lovely gifts for her trousseau
and home.
The out of town guests includ
ed Mesdames C. D. Bowers, Sims
Bowers, Clyde Harmon and Chris
Salters of Greenwood; Mesdames
Alvin Tinsley and Morris Johnsou
of Kinards; Mrs. Ethel Chaney of
Laurens, and Mrs. Grover Nabors
of Clinton.
