RICHARD WATTS, Correspondent and Representative Mrs. Essie Powell, Helen, Albert and Fulton Powell of Greer, visited Mrs. Ada Center Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Arevalo and Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Gaffney were week-end visitors in Greenville. Mrs. Joe E. Land is visiting her daughter in Mullins this week. Mrs. Etta Brookshire of Asheville, N. C., visited Mr. and Mrs. Murray Adams during the week. Mrs. Ethel Summer of Woodruff, is making her home with her sister, Mrs. Murray Adams. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Campbell and Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Arnold were visitors in Greenville Saturday and attended the basketball tournament. Miss Gerry Trammell of Winthrop college, spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Trammell. Mr. and Mrs. James H. Ammons and family have moved to Winnaboro to make their home. Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Womble and family of WinnAoro, spent the week-end with Mrs. W. H. Ammons. Sgt. C. L. Snipes of Fort Bragg, N. C., spent the week-end With Mrs. Snipes and family. Mr. and Mrs. James Seay and family and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Glenn and son of Greenville, Mrs. Roy Smith and family of Ware Shoals, and Miss Frances Watts of Ware Shoals, were Sunday guests of Mrs. J. H. Seay. Mr. and Mrs. Hall King and fam ily of Spartanburg, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Will Hampton. Mrs. W. P. Thrift and Margie Thrift of Lydia, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hampton and Mrs. Will Hampton and family. Clarence McAbee of Enoree, visit ed Mrs. McAbee during, the week. Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Barker and children and Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Sanders were visitors in Newberry Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Cooper and family of Laurens, spent Sunday with Mrs. Lula Moates and family. Mrs. Eland Harris and son have moved to Fort Bragg, N. C^ where they will make their home while Sgt. Harris is stationed there. Arnold D. Anderson of Spartan burg, visited Mrs. Jim Wilkie and family last week. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Puckett of Fayetteville, N. Mr. and Mrs. John McAlister of Whitmire, spent Sunday with Mrs. Gus Harris. Mrs. James Hale of Gastonia, N. C., is spending some time with her mother. New officers for the year were installed by Mrs. J. V. .Lowe Two new members, Miss Martha Washington and Mrs. Raymond Cantpbell, were added to the roll. The president. Jack Wilson, presided and* opened the meeting by calling for the singing of the hymn, ‘Look for the Beautiful.” L. C. Ficklin offered prayer. Rev. John H. Holland, acting in the place of W. R. Thomas, chairman of the program committee, presented to the group Miss Mary Johnson, music instruc tor at Providence and Academy Street schools, who led a chorus of girls in the singing of several choral numbers. At the close of the pro gram refreshments were served by the entertainment committee.
