We are "grateful for the example of her consistent Christian life, f iracious nature, loyalty to her riends, and devotion to her fam ily. We reflect with gratitude on the home, of which she was the center, and her influence, which was for good in her community. Her house was always open for the ministers, who were given such a hearty wel come. She joined the church in her youth. Her failing health could not, diminish her interest in the serv ices which came to her over the radio, and were a joy and a com fort. Her spirit was a benediction to those with whom she came in contact. We thank God for her long life in our midst. MRS. ANNIE H. Something precious is smothered out, leaving county, Dfec. 22, 1879. She was, the daughter of Thomas J. and Nancy Scott Hatton. Born of pious Presby terian ancestry it was but natural that she unite with the Presbyter ian church of her community. “Shady Grove.” Although she lived in Clinton since 1922, she did not move her membership yet she faithfully attended the services of the First church as long as her health permitted. She was a gentlewoman of the true Southern type, possessed of a beautiful character. She loved her community, her friends, her church and her Saviour and in turn she was loved and esteemed by all who knew her. “It is sweet to go when the Mas- calls, If your work is all well done; It is sweet to rest when th$ day is past, If that re$t has been fairly won.” Memorials by Women of the Church, First Presbyterian Church, Clinton. Men’s groups in the show include a crowd of con- ventionaires who gather to sing in close harmony, and another group of six, who dress in oriental cos tumes to do a burlesque imper sonation of Harlem dancing girls. A smash finish to the show is achieved in the finale when the en tire ensemble assembles to pay tri bute to “the old hometown.’ The show is built for laughs and variety. It emphasizes the idea which is growing in popularity in amateur productions. The local people who make up the cast not only take part as actors when they impersonate celebrities, but the au dience attending the show has an opportunity to take part also.
