She has also served as vice- president of the California Teachers association and as a member of the board of directors. She is a charter member of Delta Kappa Gamma and served as the first president of Chi Chapter. She has been both presi dent and vice-president of the Los Angeles District, California Federa tion of Business and Professional Women’s clubs and chairman of the Education Committee of the same group. For two years Miss Morris was Public Affairs and War Bond chair man for the California BPW direct ing the sale of more than $20,000,000 of War Bonds: Bhe is past chairman of the education committee, Los Angeles district, California Federa tion of Women’s clubs, and Past Matron, Order of the Eastern Star. During the year 1943-44, Miss Morris was chairman of the Pro fessional Relations Committee of the N E A Department of Classroom Teachers. She served as vice-presi dent of the Department from 1944 until 1947. She was elected South western Regional Director in 1947 and served the department in this capacity for the full term of three years before being elected president. Greenville Symphony Orchestra To Present Laurens Concert Feb. 12 The Greenville Symphony orches tra of 40 pieces, under the direction of Robert Cantrick, is to present a concert Monday evening, Fbb. 12, in the Laurens high school auditorium, under the sponsorship of the Lau rens Business and Professional Wom en’s club. The Greenville Symphony orches tra and the Greenville Symphony as sociation were formed in 1947 by civic minded citizens of Greenville. Musicians are professional and se mi-professional with amateurs in cluded. The first concert was given in Greenville in December 1948. The conductor is also band-master at Fur man university. The symphony grew from less than 30 musicians when it was or ganized to over 40 today. Some of „ the players come in from Clinton, Anderson, Westminster and other nearby places.
