Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Cooper were Mr. and Mrs. S. B Cooper and Pat Cooper. Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Anderson of near Clinton, spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Lawson. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Piercy and son of Spartanburg, spent the week end with the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claud McElhannon. Mr. dnd Mrs. Hampton Hyatt and Mr. and Mrs. Diag Green of Wood ruff, visited Mr. and Mrs. Ithiel Har vey Sunday. Mrs. Roy Passmore and children ol West Clinton, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Longshore. Carl Spurgeon Todd 1 of the navy, is spending a ten-day leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Todd. Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Todd were Mr and Mrs Ebie Wil son of South GreenWood, and Mrs. Rebecca Wright of Greenwood. Mrs. Rosa Cole visited Mrs. Lula Hitt in Cross Hill Sunday . Earl Mathis of Gaffney, is visiting this week with Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Todd and family. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Edwards and children and Mr. and Mrs. T. A Polatty and daughter of Saluda, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Israel Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Sanders and family formerly of this community, visited Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Parrish, | Sr., Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Windsor and daughter visited Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Windsor in Spartanburg Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Smith and fam ily spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Harrison near Clinton. Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Burkhalter and children of Spartanburg, visited Mr and Mrs. H. L. Mason the past week end. Rev. R. D. Gregg is attending the state Baptist convention in Charles ton this week. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Crocker and Walter and falter Fuller visited Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fuller in Fountain Inn Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Casey Abercrombies spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs Howard Oliver in Lockhart. Mr. and Mrs. Josh Motte and Mrs. Stella McLendon and Barbara Jean attended the funeral of their cousin, General L. Gossett, in Cross Anchor Sunday. Paul McLendon of the navy, spent the week-end with his family. Mrs. Kat Bennett visited Mr. Ben nett at Camp Stewart, Ga., last week. Mr. and Mrs. Capers Gregory of Seneca, visited Saturday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Ballard. Lee Chastain of Spartanburg, vis ited Miss Peggy Ballard Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Gallman and sons visited in Union over the week end. Mr. Gallman 'attended the American Legion convention while there. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Satterfield and family and Mr. and Mrs. Mart Satterfield and family visited the Isle of Palms and Charleston Sun day. Walker Jones and daughter of Un ion, spent Sunday with Mrs. K. F. Johns. Mrs. Lucille Jeffers and Mrs. Vir ginia Wilson enjoyed a trip to Co lumbia Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Perry Sumerel and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Sumerel took a trip through the Great Smoky mountains Sunday. Mrs. lone Wallace and Calvin Cooper have returned from Char lotte, N. C., where they attended the convention of the North Carolina- South Carolina recreation associa tion. With The Sick Ithiel Harvey is ill at his home on Pine street. Little Leland Nelson is improv ing after an illness of two weeks. Mrs. K. F. Johns is at home after spending some time at the Blalock clinic. Johnny Bailey hah ‘chicken pox. Mrs. W. I. Bailey, Jr., has been ill the past few days. Shower For Mrs. Abercrombie The young matrons’ class of the Baptist church gave a shower Fri day night at the community center for their teacher, Mrs. Jot Aber crombie. A number of interesting games were played and prizes were won by i Mrs. Evie Shockley, Mrs. Flora I Gregg, Mrs. Cleo Abercrombie, Mrs. Eva Mae Manley and Mrs. I. C. Mc Lendon. Refreshments of sandwich es, potato chips, cookies and cold drinks were served the 28 guests by the class members. Mrs. Abercrom bie received many useful gifts. i Birth Announcement Johnson Mr. and Mrs.' Bobby Joe Johnson announce the birth of a son, Michael Durmont, Nov. 7, at the Blalock clinic. Mrs. Johnson is the former Miss Frances Coker. Rev. Brown To Conduct Services Rev. L. W. Brown will conduct the regular service Sunday morning at 11 o’clock at the Presbyterian church.
