The following extract is taken
from the minutes of a Presbyterian
college faculty meeting dated No-,
vember 1, 1950, in appreciation of the
late Dr. Ellis A. Fuller of Louis
ville, Ky., a distinguished graduate
of the college:
The quite recent decease of the
Reverend Ellis A. Fuller, D.D., makes
this meeting of the faculty of Pres
byterian college, of which he was
an alumnus, a fitting occasion for
reflection upon the esteem in which
he was nationally held as a religious
leader and educator.
Though his prominence resulted
from his distinguished occupancy of
a pulpit of the Southern Baptist con
vention in a large city and recently
from his energetic and useful serv
ices as president of the large Baptist
Theological Seminary in Louisville,
he was always most generous of his j
time and strength to his home com
munity Of Laurens county and to its
school, Presbyterian college, the al
ma mater of his youth. Within recent j
years he would add gladly to his
heavy speaking engagements within
the county the extra task of speaking
in chapel to the college student body.
His well-remembered commencement
address of three years ago was the
occasion of a friendly visit made ex
pressly for that purpose. Especially
is it a matter of regret and loss that
he will not be able to fulfill in
March the engagement, into which
he so kindly entered, of being the
principal speaker during the serv
ices of Religious Emphasis Week.
The faculty of Presbyterian col
lege is rejoiced and grateful, how
ever, for the life of such an one who
not only reflected honor upon his
school by high and holy attainments
but also manifested an unalloyed af
fection for him in such gracious and
kindly ways.
And, as a token of its esteem for
him and in sympathy for all who
mourn his loss, especially his immed
iate family, Che faculty does resolve
thus formally to express these senti
ments by inscribing them upon the
minutes of the faculty of Presbyter
ian College and orders the secretary
to send a copy of them to his family.
James S. Gray, Secretary of Faculty.
AND
HOME
Remove all rings, bracelets and or
naments from hands and fingers be
fore putting on hose. Smooth finger
nails with an emery board, too, so
that there can be no catches in the
hose.
When drawing on the stocking, roll
down to the toe and draw upwards
easily. Before attaching l7 the hose to
garters, check seam line and straigh
ten, if necessary.,
Your darning egg will be easier
to use if one half of it is painted
light, and the other dark. Use the
dark side on light stockings and the
light for dark stockings to enable
you to see better.
