Dr. William Redd Turner, pastor of the bride, officiated in the presence of a large assemblage of relatives and friends. The vows were spoxen in an ex quisite setting of traditional green and white. Shirred theatrical gauze over sprays of Southern smilax on a background of white, gracefully draped the choir loft and rostrum. In the center of the rostrum were white chrysanthemums in a brass container and on either side at floor level were three-tiered floor can delabra in graduated lengths hold ing many white lighted tapers. The choir loft was banked with palms and lighted candles and on the or gan was a modernistic arrangement of chrysanthemums and greenery. Bows of bridal illusion, wedding bells and fern marked the family pews. A program of wedding music was rendered by Mrs. James Ferdinand Jacobs, organist, Miss Margery Smith and James Puryear, soloists. Miss Smith sang “Glorious Day” (Brown), “For You Alone’’ (Geehl) and at the close of the ceremony “The Lord’s Prayer” (Mallotte) as a benediction. Mr. Puryear sang “Because”. Organ selections includ ed Schubert’s “Serenade” and Mc Dowell’s “To A Wild Rose” during the ceremony, both of which were played at the bride’s parents wed ding; and the traditional wedding marches. Usher groomsmen were R. Chris Adair, Jr., brother of the bride, of Great Falls; Edward McGee of Hamlet, N. C.; John Mimnaugh, Jr., and Browning Dicus, of this city. Ushers were S. James Von Hollen, John B. Jordan, Paul B. Martin of this city, and Joe McGee of Clinton and Charleston. (Continued on page seven) DR. W. D. MAYFIELD Takes pleasure in announcing: the '.
