I rage Six THE CLINTON CHRONICLE Thursday, September 21, 1950 County Gas Tax Continues To Show Monthly Increase Special to The Chronicle. Columbia. Sept. 20—Laurens coun ty will receive $6,808 this month as_ its share of the portion of the state gasoline tax distributed to South Carolina counties, State Treasurer Jeff Bates announced this week. The $6,808 alloted to Laurens county is an increase from the $6.- 378 the county received in the sam^ period of last year. The total dis tributed to the counties this month is $341,056, as compared to the $334,- 961 distributed in September, 1949. One cent of the seven cent state gasoline tax is placed in a special fund each month for/ allocation to the counties.
