Little Mickey Dover is recuperat
ing at his home after a stay at the
Blalock clinic.
Mrs. Pauline Lowery is seriously
ill at the Blalock clinic.
Mrs. A. F. Campbell is improving
after an illness. \

several weeks.
Study Course Held
A Sunday* school study course is
being held at Calvary Baptist church
each evening this week beginning at
7 o’clock. “The Way Make Plain,’’
dealing with the question on soul
winning, is the book, taught by Mrs.
R. B. Amick.
Fall Revival Announced
The fall revival at Calvary Baptist
church will begin Wednesday eve
ning at 7:30 o’clock, Sept. 27. Rev.
Dan Greer, pastor of Camp Creek
Baptist church, will be the visiting
minister.
Rev. J. W. Spillers, pastor, extends
to the public a cordial Invitation to
attend.

Mrs. Clinton West and Mrs. Caro
lyn Inglett of Clinton and Lydia
Mills, attended the quarterly meet
ing of the Piedmont District of the
association in Calhoun Falls Sep
tember 14.
The annual election of officers
was held and Mrs. West was elected
vice-president of the association.

On Sunday, Sept. 17, Miss Thelma'

ry Russ, beoame the bride of Ed
ward Nelson, in a ceremony at Cal
vary Baptut church.
The wedding *as held at high
| noon with her pastor, Rev. J. W.
Spillers, performing the double ring
ceremony in the presence of a large
number of guests.
Ushers were R. B. Amick. Tom
Brown, Louie Webb and Brooks
Dunaway.
The couple entered unattended.
The bride wore a two-piece suit in
blue with White accessories. She
carried a white Bible topped with a
purple-throated orchid.
The vows were spoken before a
background of white gladioli, fern
and palms. *
A program of nuptial music was
given by Mrs. Eva B. Land, organist.
Miss Alma Spillers, soloist, rendered
“O Promise Me,” and "Seal Us, O,
Holy Spirit.”
The bride’s mother wore a navy
blue and white dress with matching
accessories and* a shoulder corsage
of white carnations.
Mrs. Nelson is a graduate of Clin
ton high school and holds a position
at Scott’s store.
Following a wedding trip to
Waynesville, N. C., the young couple
will make their home at Lydia Mills
where Mr. Nelson is employed.
Homecoming and Rally Day Services
Sunday at Bailey Memorial Church
Bailey Memorial Methodist church
will hold homecoming and fall rally
day next’Sunday, September 24.
1 Over 100 invitations have been is
sued to individuals and families, and
the congregation, through its invita
tion committee, is especially inviting
all who have ever been connected
with the church to be, present and
help to make this one of the bright
est Red Letter days in its history.
The goal in attendane at Sunday
school has been set at not less than
160.
Three services will be held during
the day. Sunday school at 10 ajn.
Morning worship at 11 a.m., and an
afternoon service convenihg at 2
o’clock. This service will be in the
form of a testimony meeting, the
service in the morning being a for
mal one, and the one in the after
noon being informal. Rev. W. R.
Quinn, pastor of the Southern Meth
odist church of Turbeville, and a
former pastor of this church, will
preach the morning sermon. Spec
ial music is being arranged for both
services.
All attending are asked to bring
well filled baskets of lunch, in order
that there will be an abundance of
food for all who may attend. Dinner
will be served in the basement at
12:30.
All people in the community will
be welcome and are extended a
special invitation to attend the ser
vices. This includes members of all
denominations.
