Sunday in Laurens with the lat
ter’s father, Sam Powers who is
ill, and also attended the funeral of
their uncle, Egbert Riddle in Gray
Court.
Miss Barbara Workman returns
this week to resume her studies at
Furman University after spending
the summer with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Ace Workman, Sr.
Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Morris and
family are now occupying one of the
King Apartments on Cedar street.
W. A. Buchanan is making his
home in Swannanoa, N. C.
John D. Dominick spent several
days last week in Columbia with his
grandson, Ronald Crapps, son of Mr.
and Mrs. V. C. CFapps who is a pa
tient in the Columbia hospital suf
fering injuries received in a motor
cycle-car accident. On Wednesday
Mrs. H. C. Suber, James Dominick
and son, William, visited Ronald.

companied by Misses Mary Walker

spent Sunday in Gatlinburg, Tenn.,

ter, Susan, of Dallas, Texas, former
residents of this city, visited friends

the latter’s sister and brother-in-

a position as technician and recep
tionist in the dental offices of Dr.

from a few days’ visit with relatives

Mrs. Maude Hollis, who has held
a matron’s position at the orphan
age for the past six years, has re
signed and returned yesterday to
her former home in Chester.

and little daughter have moved into
their recently purchased home off
the Laurens highway.
Mr. and Mrs. Francis K. McGee
have returned from their wedding
trip and are now occupying an apart
ment in the home of Mrs. George
R. Holland on Musgrove street.
Mrs. W. H. Simpson is spending
several days in Winnsboro with her
daughter, Mr*. Kitt R. McMasters
and Mr. McMaster.
Mrs. L. H. Lee, Jr., of Norfolk,
Va, f is visiting her parents, Dr. and
Mrs. M. A. Macdonald and family.
Mr. and Mrs. W. J. McBrayer, Jr.,
and son, Chuck, have returned from
a few days’ vacation at Isle of
Palms.
Pfc. Billy Buchanan of the U. S.
Air Corps, stationed at Camp Gordon,
Augusta, Ga., spent the week-end at
home.

Greenwood, Miss., were guests this
week of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Sadler.

ercises of the Warren Candler hos
pital school of nursing in Savannah,
Ga., on Friday. The former’s daugh-,

member of the graduating class.
Mrs. Sidney Riser is a patient at
Hays hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. David Tribble leave
next week for Nashville, Tenn.,
where Mr. Tribble will enter the
medical school at Vanderbilt Uni
versity.
Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Dutton, Jr.,
have returned from Boston, Mass,
where they were guests of Capt. and
Mrs. C. W. Hallman. They were
accompanied home by their son, Jim
my Dutton who had spent the past
month with the Hallmans. While
away the Duttons accompanied by
the Hallmans made an interesting
trip through New Hampshire, Ver
mont and Canada and points of in
terest in the New England states

from an extended summer tour of
Europe and will leave today to re
sume her studies at Stephens col
