Finance Campaign For Scout Work To Be Made Here The Blue Ridge Council of Boy Scouts .of America announced yes terday that R. E. Ferguson, Sr., of this city, has been appointed to head the scout finance campaign in Clin ton. Mr. Ferguson said the campaign would begin with a “kick-off” break fast Thursday morning, June 8. The Blue Ridge council, with a budget ofi $42,981.60, consists of eight counties; of upper South Carolina: Laurens, Greenwood, Newberry, Greenville, Anderson, Abbeville, Oconee and Pickens. ' i Mr. Ferguson, former president of the council for several years, saki that no finance drive for scouting had been made in several years .and expressed the desire that all local citizens respond generously and aid the council in its program to extend better scouting to more boys.
