Bridge Party Given

Mrs. Hazel Allison of Pine Bluff,
N. C., who was visiting Mrs. A. B.
Stump, was guest of honor on last

Stump entertained at bridge.
Players were invited for three
tables and after a number of pro
gressions prizes were presented to
Mrs. Gordon Goodale, Mrs. George
Reeves and Mrs. Bill Shields. Mrs.
Allison was also remembered with
a gift.
After cards a salad course and tea
were enjoyed.
For the occasion the card rooms
were prettily adorned with roses,
sweetpeas and lilies.

Is Entertained
Entertaining for the teachers, ma
trons and staff workers at Thorn-

The wedding took place on Satur
day evening. May 20, at 7:15 o’clock
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Collier
Poole. Rev. L. E. Foster performed
the ceremony. Only a few close
friends and relatives attended.
Mr.. Lawson is the son of Victor
Lawson and the late Mrs. Lawson of
Clinton.
At the present Mr. and Mrs. Law-
son will make their home with the
bride’s parents at Cross Anchor.

Heads Garden Club
New officers, group chairmen and
membership lists were announced at
a business meeting of the Clinton
Garden club held Monday afternoon
in the high school auditorium.
Mrs. C. E. Galloway, chairman of
the beautification committee, gave a
report on the year’s project, the Way-
side park on the Laurens highway
near the country club. Development
