Birthday Party
Corinne Boyd, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. B. Hubert Boyd, observed
her sixth birthday Saturday after
noon by inviting her little kinder
garten playmates for a party.
After a period . of outdoor games
the little folk were invited into the
dining room for refreshments. Here
the birthday motif prevailed with
the pink and white decorated cake
forming the centerpiece for the ta
ble. The cake was cut and served
with ice cream and punch and each
child was given favors of noise mak
ers and novelty candies.
Music Club Has
Annual Open Meet
The annual open meeting of the
Clinton Music club was held on
Wednesday afternoon in the high
school auditorium with a number
of guests attending. The meeting al
so marked the celebration of nation
al music week.
During a business session the fol
lowing officers were chosen to serve
for the coming year:
President, Mrs. Ed Sadler.
Vice President, Mrs. Caldwell
Henderson.
Corresponding Secretary, Mrs.
Leland Young.
Recording secretary, Mrs. Hugh
Jacobs.
Treasurer, Mrs. Jasper Rowland.
Mrs. Ed Sadler who was in charge
of the afternoon’s program present
ed Mrs. Marshall Abercrombie, so
prano, of Laurens, who accompan
ied at the piano by Mrs. John Tay
lor of Laurens, gave a number of
selections.
Late in the afternoon guests were
invited into the adjoining room for
refreshments. Adorning the tea table
where punch and cookies were
served were old fashioned nosegays
of pink roses, sweet william and for
get-me-nots tied with apple green
