Bobbie Mack Passes
Babbie Mack, infant son of Mr-j
and Mrs. William Mack, died Satur
day afternoon at Hays hospital.
In addition to his father and moth
er he is survived by two brothers,!
Robert and Willie Mack .
Funeral services were held Sunday
afternoon at 2:30 o’clock at the home,
200 Spruce street, Lydia Mill, with
the Rev. R. D. Gregg officiating. In
terment was in Rosemont cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Blackwell are
receiving congratulations on the ar- 1
rival of a son, Richard Eugene, at the
Blalock Clinic on May 3. Mrs.
Blackwell will be remembered as
Miss Agnes Green.
Prom Party Enjoyed
The Pocahontas group of Camp
fire girls entertained^ a number of
friends Friday night at the commun
ity center. The occasion honored the
.first formal prom to be given by the
Campfire organization. Mrs. O. B.
Stone is guardian for the club. The
entertainment committee, Pat Davem
port, Ella"Jane Allen, Sherrill Tfum-
phries and Sharon O’Shields, plan
ned and directed an artist game for
the introduction to the prom.
Twenty-one gueses were present.
Mrs. David Word assisted Mrs. Stone
in serving refreshments of ice cream
and cakes.
Visit Made To Flower Show
The members of the Lydia Wom
an’s club with Mrs. David Word as
president, were guests at the flower
show at the armory in Laurens May
4. The show was sponsored by the
organization of all the garden clubs
in Laurens. The theme, “Maytime,”
was carried out by the five divisions.
In the artistic division, •frith Mrs.
Marion Teague as consultant, there
were two sections: Arrangements and
Tables. The Horticulture division
was divided into six sections: Rhi
zomes, Corms and Bulbs, (b) Roses,
(c) Annuals, (d) Biennials and Pe
rennials, (e) Novelties and (f).Flow
ering Shrubs, Trees and Vines. Miss
Mary Lou Simpson was consultant.
They displayed a special feature,
junior and commercial division.
Cub Scouts Make Good Berinninr
All three divisions of the Cub
Scouts recently organized, are hold
ing their meetings on Wednesday of
each week at 5 o’clock in the after
noon. The den mothers, Mrs. Jim
Bailey, Mrs. Casey Abercrombie and
Mrs. Clyde Trammell, plan and su
pervise their respective dens with a
general scheme running throughout
the work of_each division. A scout
chief is the director for each pack.
Each pack has appointed a Den Dad
and under the planning board com
posed of three committmen, G. C.
Parrish, Sr., Jessie Boyce and J. B,
Neal and the cub master, W. R.
Cauble, a monthly meeting will be
held to make a constructive program
to bfc carried out in each pack. Eight
een cubs are now enrolled.
Men’s Club Meeting Tonight
The Men’s club will hold its May
meeting tonight, Thursday, May 11,
at 7 o’clock att the community cen
ter. A very good program has been
arranged and refreshments will be
served. All members are invited to
be present, and any new members
or visitors are cordially invited to at
tend. The change in time is called
to everyone’s attention and will pre
vail only for this meeting, officers
state.
