Marshall announce the birth of a March 31, at Hays hospital Pulley To Appeal Sentence for Having Burglary Tools A one-time suspect in a sensation al Atlanta, Ga., slaying will appeal his conviction on another charge in Columbia today. He is 45-year-old Grover Tojo Pulley, once wanted for questioning in the killing of Metropolitan opera singer John Garris on April 21, 1949. - Pulley was cleared of that crime PERSONAL MENTION ~TAYLOR Mr. and Mrs. Thomas F last August, after he had been sen tenced to 10 years in South Caroling for possessing burglary tools. He was convicted in Laurens county. The appeal is one of 13 on the state supreme court docket for its April term, which opened this week. A Belgian pistol and various tools the state said were adapted for bur glary or other crimes were found in Pulley’s souped-up 1940 coupe. A coroner’s jury ruled in Atlanta that Garris was killed by a bullet fliaul by Pulley’s gun.
