The name of the club which I rep resent is the Clinton Garden club, organized in 1947. The 175 members are divided into seven groups of 25 each. The time of meeting Js thc fourth- Monday afternoon of each month from September through May t After the last meeting, in May, we will have had 5 general meetings, 3 group meetings, and 1 garden tour The year's program includes 3 lec tures; on roses, on hollies (Christ mas meeting), and on magnolias, and 2 colored sound moving pictures on the culture of roses, and on birds. Material for the September group meeting on fall gardening was ob tained from the Clemson Agricultur al college. Working cooperatively, the Clin ton and Laurens clubs are establish ing a wayside park, midway betw’cen the two towns, on Highway No. 76. This year, for the first time, the Clinton club has a bird chairman. In October the club assumed re sponsibility for selling 33 bird houses which were built by the cub scouts from scrap material donated by the local building supply dealers. Of the $33.50 collected, $23.50 was given to the Parent Teachers association and the remaining $10.00 was given to supplement a fund which the cub scout leader used to buy a gift for each 5»<'out who participated in the IN THE KITCHEN! -OR— IN THE SHOWER!
