Mrs. Betts Hostess For Christmas Meet The annual Christmas meeting of the Ladies Bible class of the Associ ate Reformed Presbyterian church was held Monday evening with Mrs.' C. Bynum Betts. Adorning the home .were arrange ments suggestive of' the yuletide sea son with many tall tapers. Mrs. Betts read a Christmas story. Later during the social houp salaH, tea, cookies and candies were enjoyed and gifts were exchanged. Mrs. Hubert - Todd - was co-hostess for the occasion. Eastern Star Gives Dinner Members of the Eastern Star chap ter entertained their husbands with a turkey dinner on Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. John D. Davis. Mrs. J. C. Pace greeted the guests. Covers were laid for thirty at three tables decorated with greenery, red berries, lighted tapers and Santa Claus scenes, in keeping with the holi day motif. A three course dinner was served. Later those attending were presented gifts. Mrs. Carroll Reid of Orangeburg, worthy matron, and Mr. Reid were guests for the occasion. Holidoy Party For Thornwell Circle Miss Inez Tucker and Miss Luva McDonald were joint hostesses at the home of the former on Monday even ing to .members of the Edith deWese Lynn circle of Thornwell Memorial church for a Christmas party. Mrs. Miss Inez Young Weds Leonard Ledford In Home Ceremony The lovely wedding of Miss Inez Young and Leonard Hubert Ledfcyd, of Laurens, took place at twelve o’ clock noon Wednesday, December 14, at her home on South Broad street. Dr. W. R. The hostess served fruit cake, nuts and coffee at the conclusion of the meeting. Power-Suber Wedding at Laurens Beauty and simplicity characteriz ed the wedding of Miss Lois Jeanette Power, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam C. Power, of Laurens, and Gerald Calhoun Suber of this city, which was solemnized on Wednesday afternoon, December 15, at 6 o'clock in the Pitta chapel of the First Baptist church In Laurens. The pastor, the Rev. J. E. Rouse, performed the ceremony in the presence of relatives and close friends of the couple. The wedding music was rendered by Miss Lucile Owens, pianist, and W. B. Etters, vocalist. Mr. Etters sang “Because” and “Seal Us O Holy Spirit”. Miss Owens played several prenuptial selections and the tradi tional wedding march.
