The roll of churches was called with Central Sandy Springs charge having the highest number present and Joanna having the highest num- as an individual church. Tfie sub-district voted to meet once a month instead of every other month. The December meeting will ! be in Laurens with Central church. St. James church will have charge • of the program. The recreation_ was held at Jo- I anna club with the local recreation commission in charge. Sandwiches and lemonade were served and the meeting closed with the MYF Friend ship Ring. WML' Will Meet The Baptist Woman’s Missionary Woman's Club Party The annual Christmas party of the Joanna Woman’s club will be Thurs day (tonight) at 7 o’clock. The pro gram chairman, Mrs. Lavinia Cooley, assisted by members of the club, will present a Christmas pantomine en titled, ‘The Birth of Christa” The executive committee will have charge of 4he refreshments and so cial hour. Each member is asked to bring her Joanna Sister a Christmas gift, but please omit your name as the secret isn’t to be revealed until the June meeting. Mrs. Tom Warren is a patient at Providence hospital in Columbia. Miss Mary Campbell is a patient at Joanna hospital following an ap pendectomy. Birth Announcement Spoone Mf. and Mrs. Horace Spoone of Alexandria, Va., announce the birth of a son, Nov. 26 at Camp Belvoir hospital. Mrs. Spoone is the formef Miss Aileene Dees, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Dees of Clinton and Joanna. Laurens Bans All Raw Milk Laurens, Nov. 26—The^ity of Lau rens has passed an ordinance re quiring that all milk sold in the city be pasteurized. The City Council drew the ordinance November 1. It was adopted at a call meeting this week. Milk ^whosfe sour« of supply IS outside a five mile radius of the city is hereafter to be barred from sale within the corporate limits of Lau rens. Some sources believe the milk referred to is raw milk. Exceptions to the rule are provid ed for in the ordinance “when the lo cal supply is insufficient or unsatis factory.” The two restrictions are contained in an ordinance and code “recom mended and approved" by the U. The first contestant finding all Items correctly or the first contestant finding the most items correctly will he adjudged the 5. All entries must be mailed to the Clinton Chamber of Commerce. 6.
