Santa Claus will pay his first of-
licial visit for 1949 to Clinton this
afternoon (Thursday) when he ar-
tives at 4 30 to becom«' the main
figure in the city’s annual Christ
mas parade.
The celebration is being planned
by the Merchants committee of the
Chamber of Commerce.
The parade will reach the busi
ness section at 4 30. All merchants
or others entering floats are asked
to be at the college at 4 p m
The parade of cwurse will be eli
d'd by the appearance of Santa
Claus taking hu place of honor at
the end of the procession, composed
of floats, bands and officials. The
Whitmire, Newberry and Clinton
schools and Presbyterian college
