Out-door games were enjoyed af
ter which the little folk were invited
into the dining room for refresh
ments. The birthday cake, decorated
in pink and white, and holding sev
en lighted candles adorned the table.
'The cake was cut and served with
ice cream. Party hats were given
each child to wear and souvenirs
v ere miniature baskets filled with
mints.
Mrs. Pierce Chandler and Mrs.
J-ames Simmons assisted in serving
and entertaining.
Mrs. W. S. Home
Hostess At Bridge
Thursday afternoon Mrs. W. S.
Horne was hostess for bridge, guests
being members of her card club.
. Red and white roses in modernistic
array and chrysanthemums with ar
rangements of autumn leaves made a
pretty setting for the two tables in
play during the afternoon. When
scores were counted Mrs. John W.
Finney, Jr., and Mrs. A. M. Cannon
were awarded prizes.
Later in the afternooon a salad
course, Russian tea and sweets were
served.
Dr. and Mrs. Milford
Honored With Dinner
Honoring Dr. and Mrs. Morgan'
Milford, newcomers to Clinton, Mr. |
and Mrs. J. F. Jacobs and Mrs. Prin-!
gle Copeland entertained at dinner j
last Wednesday evening.
For the occasion the Jacobs home
was lovely with chrysanthemums in
fall colors. In the dining room the
banquet-top table was graced with
red berries and evergreens flanked
by red tapers in crystal holders. A
buffet dinner was served and covers
were* laid for sixteen guests at small
tibles.
After dinner bridge was enjoyed
with high score awards won by Mrs.
Pringle Copeland, Jr., and Tonuny
Hollis, and 'floating prize went to
Robert F. Black. Guest prizes were
also presented to Dr. and Mrs. Mil
ford and Mrs. John William King of
Summerville, Ga.
Mrs. Jacobs Hostess
To Bridge Club
Members of her bridge club met
on Thursday at the home of Mrs. W.
P. Jacobs for a number of afternoon
games.
As a background for the two ta
bles pink and bronze chrysanthe
mums were prettily arranged. At the
conclusion of the progressions top
score honors went to Mrs. Hamp L.
Boyd.
When cards were laid aside the
hostess served a salad course.
Luncheon Given By
Joint Hostesses
On Friday Mrs. J. F. Jacobs and
Mrs. Pringle Copeland, Sr., enter
tained at luncheon at the home of
the former.
Luncheon was served buffet style
from the dining table which was
beautifully appointed with silver and
red berries. Elsewhere in the home
autumn arrangements were decora-
^ve. Guests found their places at
r three small tables.

jwho is visiting her daughter, Mrs.
Robert E. Wysor, II, and Miss Fran-
cine Wickham, who is the guest of
Dr. and Mrs. Edouard Patte, attend-,
ed the luncheon.

Crowson of Cramerton, N. C., an
nounce the birth of a son. Edward
Raymond, Jr., at Mercy hospital in
Charlotte, N. C., on Friday, Novem
ber 18. Mrs. Crowson is the former
Miss Carolyn Henry, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Wilham J. Henry, of this
city. . •
