Sunday in Greenwood whth their
daughter, Mrs. Wiley Harper, and
Mr. Harper.
Spurgeon Todd of the navy, is
spending a 20-day leave with his par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Todd, Sr.
Mr. and Mrs.„W. A. Parrish of
Woodruff, were visitors in the com-
] munity Saturday.

Club 16 Meets
Club 16 held its regular meeting
Monday night at the community cen- (
ter with Mrs. Ruth Harbin, presi- (
dent, presiding.
After the business session the club
made plans for the making of a year
book for the coming year. The pro
gram director, Mrs. Daisy Hairston,
who is sponsoring an exterior beauti
fication program, held a flower ex
change. Many kinds and varieties of
pot plants were exchanged by the
members and the culture of each dis
cussed.
Mrs. Inez Neal and Mrs. Emma
Neal were hostesses and served a
sweet course with coffee.
Funeral Services Held for Jimmie
Eddie Davis
Jimmie Eddie Davis, 15, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Matt Davis, died at Hays
hospital Friday aStemoon after a
brief illness. He was a native of
Laurens county, where he spent his
entire life. He attended the Baptist
church.
He is survived by his father and
mother; two sisters, Mrs. Harold
C. Waldrop and Miss Gay Davis, and
one brother, Paul Davis, all of Clinton
and his maternal grandfather, Ed
Godfrey, of Laurens.
Funeral services were conducted
Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the
Lydia Baptist church by the Rev.!
R. D. Gregg and the Rev. J. H. Walk
er. Interment followed in Rosemont
cemetery at Clinton.
