Miss Tinsley Complimented
One of the loveliest parties of the
season was enjoyed Monday evening
when a group of friends compliment
ed Miss Agnes Tinsley, bride-elect,
with a miscellaneous shower.
The club rooms were lovely with
mixed chrysanthemums. At the en
trance Mrs. Lester Hair presided
over the brides' book. The chair for
the honored guest was in white with
green frills, and the hostesses pre
sented her with a corsage of white
carnations. Miss Tinsley wa^ her
usual charming self, dressed in green
velveteen with eyelet trim.

Trailers registered to date during
1949 in Laurens county to*a; 83. and
motorcycles total 154. During the
first nine months of 19411’ 82 trail
ers and 131 motorcycles were regis
tered fn the county.
For the state as a whole, increases
are shown in all four categories. The
number of automobiles registered has
increased from 352,847 last year at
this time, to 389,156 registered to
date during, 1949. Truck registration
has increased from 95,485 last year to
104.854 this year: trailer registration
has risen from 10,242 to 11,085, and
the number of motorcylces recorded
in the state has jumped from 7, 231
to 7,275.

Columbia, Oct. 19.—Automobiles
registered in Laurens county during
the first nine months of 1949 total
8,836, an increase over the 7.824 cars
registered in the county during the
same period of 1948, it is shown in
a report of the motor vehicle dfvis-
ion of the S. C. State Highway De
partment.
An increase is also shown in the
number of trucks and trailers and
motorcycles registered in the coun
ty. The number of trileks increased
from the 1,470 registered between
January 1st and October 1st of 1948
to 1,667 registered during the cor
responding period of this year.
