County Drive For
Physically Handicapped
J. Hewlette Wasson of Laurens,
county chairman for Vocational Re
habilitation Services, states that a
drive will be made October 13-15 to
secure memberships for the organi
zation. The object of the effort is
to get the public acquainted with
the work of the organization.
Laurens county was ahead in the
campaign last year and hopes to
make a good showing again this year
Mr. Wasson said. In the state last
year 1,742 physically handicaoped
. people were trained for service by
this non-profit organization. The
membership fee will be only for the
literature purchased during the year.
Lawrence Curry will be at the local
employment office to give informa
tion pertaining to the work and need,
and Boy Scouts will also help with
the drive, it is sttaed.
