elect of this month, was compliment
ed with a miscellaneous shower at
the home of Mrs Frances Oswalt
The living room was attractively
decorated with mixed crysanthemums
and the guest of honor's chair was
in pink and white. Large pink wed
ding bells were hung from the ceil
ing.
During the evening ga/nec were
enjoyed carrying out the br.dal mo
tif. Prizes were won by Mrs Mary
Boyce. Mrs. Lewis Murphy and Mrs.
E J. Willingham.
The hostess served a salad course,
ainties. bride’s cakes and iced drinks.

Celebrates Birthday
On Saturday afternoon the club
house was the scene of much mer
riment on the occasion of Sue Boyce’s
ninth birthday. About 30 little
friends help to make it a lovely par-
tv. Outdoor games W-ere enjoyed,
after which the gifts were opened
by Sue.
The hostess. Mrs. Elbert Boyce, as- I
sisted by Mrs. W. J. Hogan, Mrs. J. J
C. Dickert and Mrs. J. Z. Rogers |
served ice cream, cup cakes, candy
and orangeade.
Attends Youth Rally
Fifteen young people accompanied
by the adult counsellors of fthe MYF
attended the youth rally in Green
wood last Monday evening. The
Rally was held at Main Street Meth
odist church and the speaker of the
evening was Rev. Claude Evans of
Walhalla.
During the social hour the host
church had recreation and refresh
ments.
W.S.C.S. Met Tuesday
Mfs. E. R. Prater led an interesting
program at the meeting of the Wom
an’s Society of Christian Service last
Tuesday evening. The topic being
“Christ the Corner Stone of Our
Schools.” Assisting Mrs. Prater were
Mrs. Pearl Williams, Mrs. Boyce Ox-
ner and Mrs. Vernon Gamer.
. The regular business session was
presided over by the president. Rou
tine business was attended to af
ter which the society enjoyed a so-
‘ cial hour.
The hostesses, Mrs. J. M. Ross and
Mrs. Walt Fulmer served barbecue
sandwiches, date-nut cake, potato
chips and coffee.

operation at Blalock’s clinic last
