W. S. C. S. Meets
On Tuesday evening, August 9, the
Woman's Society of Christian Ser-
j vice held their regular monthly
meeting with 25 members present.
The President, Mrs. Walter Fulmer,
opened the meeting with the hymn
j “Jesus Calls Us” after which Mrs.
Joe Abrams lead the society in
prayer. The minutes of the previous
i meeting were read by the secretary,
Mrs. Lavinia Cooley, and reports
were given by each committee. The
program for the month, ‘ Spread
ing His Light in Burma” was pre
sented by Mrs. James Simpson, as
sisted by Mrs. Joe Abrams and La-
1 vinia Cooley. Mrs. Ed Hunnicutt
1 closed the meeting with prayer.
The hostesses Mrs. Floyd Abrams
'and Mrs. Joe Abrams served punch
and cookies.
Youth Fellowship Social
The Intermediate Youth Fellow
ship meet Tuesday August 9 at 6:00
o'clock for their weekly recreation
period. After their recreational
hour, Rev. H. F. Bauknight served
'the group watermelon.

John Feltamn Passes
John N. Feltman, 64, died Friday
at a hospital in Columbia after se-
eral years of declining health. He
was a native of Newberry county.
1 He is survived by one son, John
L. Feltman of Joanna; 2 sisters, Mrs.
Lizzie Long of Greenwood and Mrs.
Lula Spivey of Greenville; also 2
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sun
day afternoon at the Gray Funeral
Home in Clinton. The Rev. James
B. Mitchell had charge of the ser
vices. Burial followed in the Ware
Shoals cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Lester Hair,
George Croft, David Madden, Joe
Purty, Charlie Shumpcrt and John
Shumpert.
Church Women Meet
The W. M. S. of the Baptist Church
• met in the assembly room on Tues
day evening with twenty-five mem
bers present. Mrs. E. J. Willingham
had charge of the program. Mrs. W.
A. Moorhead, president, presided
over the business. Many plans were
discussed, among them being a
State Prayer Program for all Mis
sionary Organizations of the church
i which will be held on August 31.
The hostesses, Mrs; Furman Frady,
j Mrs. Otis Murphy and Mrs. Charles
Murphy served a salad plate and
iced tea. The meeting adjourned
with prayer by Mrs. ^Moorhead.

Senior Youth Fellowship Meets
The Senior Youth Fellowship held
their weekly meeting Tuesday, Au
gust 9 at the home of Jackie Love
lace. The president, Sara Hollings
worth, called the meeting to ordeb
and welcomed each member. Re
ports were given by the chairman
of each committee — the recreation
committee reporting that a week
end trip to Lake Junaluska was be
ing planned. After the business an
interesting and inspiring program
