Saturday. He was a native of Spar
tanburg county but had made his
home in Clinton for two years. He
attended the Baptist church. Mr.
Taylor was a son of Mrs. Euzelia
Taylor Smith and the late Walter
Taylor.
He is survived by his mother. h:s
step-father. J. M. Smith, of Clinton;
two sisters, Mrs. Henry Green of
Chester, and Mrs. Odell Ruth of
Chester; one half-sister, and one
half-brother. Miss Vera Smith and
Kenneth Smith, both of this city.
Funeral services were held Monday
afternoon at 5 o’clock at the Second
Baptist church. Eureka Mills, Ches
ter. Interment was in Evergreenn
cemetery at Chester.
Waterloo Boy
Named for County To
Attend Forestry Camp

Columbia, Aug. 16.—-Niles C. Clark
of Waterloo, has been selected as the
F. F. A. boy from Laurens county tc
attend the forestry camp being spon
sored by the South Carolina Com
mission of Forestry. Niles was chosen
on the basis of having had the best
home forestry project in the county
during the past year. The judging of
the projects was done by the district
vocational agriculture supervisor and
the district forester.
Niles is 16 years old and in the
10th grade at the Laurens high
school. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Niles C. Clark.
The forestry camp, which is being
attended by 72 boys from all over
the state. Is being held at Camp For-,
est in Cheraw State Park. August IS
through 20.
Also attending the camp from
Laurens county Is the winner of the
county letter contest on “Why I
Would Like to Attend Forestry.
