Thursday, August 11, 1949 THE CLINTON CHRONICLE ,—^ Pagp Fiv# :: 1 I i i. 1 Fair Warning! We want to warn our customers ONE MORE TIME about the gravity of the coal situation. Mr. Lewis has limited his miners to ONLY THREE DAYS per week. This amount of work CANNOT produce enough coal to fill ordinary requirements; therefore, if the 3-day week continues there will be a SERIOUS COAL SHORTAGE. Even now, one of our biggest suppliers (Grenadier mines) has gone out of business. QUIT for keeps. An other mine from which we buy a lot advises us we can get no coal from them until October or November. An other is SOLD UP TO NEXT MARCH. Right now we can get a limited tonnage of good coal, but by September we are afraid we can’t get it. We now have on hand GRENADIER, RED CLOVER, RED BAR, and GREAT HEART — four of the best names in coal. Our price is $14.50 until further notice. These are the facts. Our advice: BUY COAL AT ONCE, if you bum coal. WEEK-END TRIPS ■ ■ VISITORS .. ILLNESS BRIEFS...
