Columbia, July 20—Walter L.
Martin, former member of the
House of Representatives from Lau
rens county, last week returned his
$700 “extra pay,” According to At
torney General John M. Daniel. The
extra pay was votud by the 1947
General Assembly, and has since
been declared unconstitutional by a
special state Supreme Court.
The attorney general recently not
ified all legislators who had not re
turned the $700 that he was demand
ing the return of the money to the
state treasury.
