For County Total
$54,256 In Eight Months

Columbia, June 14.—Motor vehicle
license fees paid in Laurens county
between September 13, 1948, and
May L- 4949. according to a report
of the state highway department,
came to S54i256 Of the total, $53,1 <4
was collected prior to the month oi
April, and $1,081 of the fees were
paid during April. ,
In South Carolina, license fees
paid since September 13 were re
ported as $3,070,325. The county re
porting the largest sum collected
trom fees during the seven and a
^ half month period* was Greenville,'
•where $314,103 was collected in fees.

1948, 205 were while males and 213
were white females. Of the Negro
births, the number of female births
outnumbered the male, with 191
males and 195 females. *
