Cooper Named As
Area Chairman
Automobile Group
Lynn W. Cooper, Sr., local Dodge-
Plymouth dealer, has been appoint
ed Area Chairman for the National
Automobile Dealers Association to
stimulate active participation in the
Association’s national programs
throughout Laurens county.
Mr. Cooper was selected as Area
Chairman by a committee of NADA
and South Carolina Automobile
Dealers Ass. officials. The appoint
ment was announced by Russel B.
Lentz, the National Association’s Di
rector for South Carolina.
NADA is the ^largest retail trade
association in the country with a
membership of more than 34,000 new
automobile and new truck dealers.
The national organisation is widely
known for its sponsorship of high
way safety and other public interest
programs and its policy of support
ing the highest standards and ethics
of retail automobile merchandising.

Methodist Church
Sunday Evening
Miss Mildred Smith, daughter of
Rev. J. O. Smith, of Greenville, will
speak at Broad Street Methodist
church Sunday evening at 7:30
o’clock. Miss Smith and her father
recently returned from Amsterdam,
Holland, where they attended the
World Council-*of Churches.” While
there Miss Smith made pictures
which will be shown Sunday eve
ning. The public is cordially invited
tc atttend this program sponsored
by the Youth Fellowship group of
the church. A social hour will be
enjoyed following the meeting.
Musgrove Club
Has Meeting
The Musgrove Home Demonstra
tion club met with Mrs. P. B. Mitch
ell on June 1, with the president in
charge
After a song by the club, Mrs. A.
A. May led the devotional, reading
a part of the 24th Psalm.
The roll was called by the secre
tary and each member answered
with her favorite flower. Minutes of
the last meeting were read
During a business session it was
slated that the district meeting

Presbyterians Holding
Vacation Bible Schools
Vacation Bible school began Mon
day morning at the First Presbyte
rian church, and its two outpost
chapels, Rock Bridge and Bethany.'
Children between the ages of four
and eleven are invited by the teach
ers and helpers in charge at the re
spective schools.
To Give Cub Scout
Trohiing Course Here
A training course for parents and
leaders of cub scouts will be given
at Florida Street school at 7:30 p.m.
this evening (Thursday) conducted
by officials of the Blue Ridge Boy
Scout council. Parents of children,
v cub age, 8 to 10 years old, are invit
ed to “attend. The National Council
has just lowered the cub scout age
to 8.
