Birthday Party for Little Girl
On Saturday evening little Miss
Elaine Ross of Marion, was honored
with a birthday party at the home
of her grandmother, Mrs. J. D.
O'Oell. A group of little friends
gathered on the lawn to help Elaine
celebrate her- third birthday.
Mrs. Pearl Williams invited the
little folk, into the dining room. The
centerpiece for the dining table was
a lovely pink and white cake with
three lighted little girl candles. Ice
cream, cookies and small plastic
baskets filled with candy were
served.
The little honoree was delighted
as she opened the many gaily wrap
ped gifts.
Party for Pat Carr
Miss Pat Carr was hostess to a few
friends in honor of her 9th birthday
oh Saturday evening at her home.
The dining room was very attrac-!
live, the table being overlaid with
a pink tissue cover. The birthday
cake was in green and pink with
lighted candles on a stand Tvith
sweetpeas covering the base, flanked
on either side by tall white candles. |
Pat’s mother, Mrs. D. M. Carr,'
served ice croam in pastel green,
frozen in fruit shapes, and cake.
Each guest was presented a comic
book as a favor.
Pat received many lovely gifts
that delight little girls.

Birthday Dinner
The Hunnicutt children honored
their father on his 64th birthday and
their mother on Mother's Day with
a dinner at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Hunnicutt. Those pres
ent were Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Hunni
cutt, honored guests, Mr. and Mrs.
Julian Hunnicutt. Mr. and Mrs. Al
vin Marshall, and children. Mr. and
Mrs Buddy Hunnicutt. and Sharon
Ann of Ninety-Six.
Arrives In Japan
Friends of Mr. and Mrs Jack Hun

their son. Billy, of the army, has
landed in Japan

Service met last Tuesday evening at

gave a discussion on the meeting
held at Bethlehem church near Sa
luda recently She gave in detail
the advanced program and asked the
society to increase their mission

On Monday evening the Beden-
baugh home on Blalock Drive was a
scene of beauty. The occasion was
a miscellaneous shrfwer for Mrs Ma
rion Crowder, recent young bride.

dergone an appendectomy.
The little Morse baby, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Otis Morse, was painfully
burned Monday.
Young Bride-Elect Honored
On Monday evening Mrs. Jack
Goodlin and Mrs. Harold Murphy en
tertained for Miss Betty Waits, young
bride-elect, with a linen shower at
the former’s home on Milton Road.
In the living room red and white
roses and ivy were attractively
u^ed. The guest of honor’s chair was
white with roses and ivy entwined.
Mrs. Louis Murphy directed the
entertainment of the evening. Those
winning prizes presented them to
the bride-elect.
Mrs. Goodlin invited the guests
into the dining room where the col
or scheme of pink and green was
used. The centerpiece for the lace-
covered table was of pink snap
dragons.
The hostesses served dainty re
freshments buffet style.

Revival services are being con
ducted daily by the organizational
committee of the Fire Baptized Holi
ness church in a tent to the rear of
Tillman Circle. The public is cor
dially invited to attend these ser
vices.
