Self-Denial Week
The week beginning January 30th
through February 3 has been desig
nated by the General Assembly of
the Presbyterian church, U. S., as
a period of prayer and self denial
for Foreign Missions, in which the
whole southern church is participat
ing. For observance of this week
the Women Of the First Presbyterian
church have arranged the following

an address by Mrs. Paisley, a re
turned missionary from Korea.
Tuesdary, February 1, at 3 o’clock,

Joint Hostesses
For Buffet Supper
On Thursday evening, January 13,
Mrs. Gillette Simpson and Mrs. I. B.
Copeland jointly entertained a group
of friends at the home of the former

Red gladioli and flowering quince
prettily decorated the living and din
ing rooms. A delightful supper was
served buffet style to about forty
guests. Later, punch was served and
dancing enjoyed throughout the eve
ning.
