J Woman’s Club To Sponsor a Com
munity-Wide Home Decoration
Project for December
At a business meeting of the
' Womna’s club Wednesday afternoon j

mell, the president, plans for a com-!
munity-wide home decoration proj- j
ect were drawn up. All residents
of Lydia Mill are asked to coope
rate with the club in making the vil- J
lage beautiful during the Christ-;
mas season and help send out a mes- •
sage of cheer and goodwill by dec
orating doors and windows with'
lights, Christmas trees and ever
greens visible from the street. Prizes i
donated by Lydia Mill, will be j
j awarded the owner of the home on j
each street in the opinion of the
judges, that is most beautifully
decorated. Out oJ town judges will!
be selected. The club slogan for
t the project is “A Light in Every
Window and a Tree in Every Home.”
Juanita Fuller Honored On Birthday

Fashions at Home and Abroad Dis
cussed at ‘‘Club 16" Meeting

community center with Mrs. Virginia
Rowe program chairman. The pro- 1
gram, called “Around the World j
Fashion-Wise,” took members on a
mythical air tour of several foreign
countries pointing out women’s in
terests and fashions ip these, coun-

Of partciular interest was a fash-
ion show, each member modeling
the garment she had made. Special
i emphasis was made on accessories. 1
j The judges were. Misses Susan Hall
and Adeline Vaughn of Laurens, and:

! nelson presented prizes to Mrs. De-
vola Hellams, Mrs. Sarah Danhoff
and Mrs. Meda Williams. —*—
The members gave an interesting
skit, “To Glove or Not to Glove.”

dishes were served: Swedish Smor
gasbord, English Tea Cakes, French
Petit Fours, Chinese Tea and Bra
