Mrs. W. L. Leary, of Greenwood,
entertained for Mr. and Mrs. James
Robert Cox, of this city, with a drop-
in Wednesday at the Cox apartment
in Greenwood, celebrating their sec- I
ond wedding anniversary.
The party rooms were decorated
with lovely gardenias, hydrangeas
and sweetpeas.
The drop leaf table was covered
with an imported cloth. The table]
was centered with white burning ta
pers. On one side was an anniver
sary cake topped with miniature
! bride and groom, and on the other
was a cutglass punch bowl. Silver

and open-face sandwiches were serv-
, ed in addition to lime sherbet, carry

white. Individual wedding cakes,

i served. A number of Greenwood

Popular Bride-Elect
Miss Polly Baldwin, who will be
married this iponth at Allen Draugh-
on of Waxhaw, N. C., was compli
mented with a luncheon Thursday at
the C. W. Anderson home. Hostesses
were Miss Barbara Anderson, Miss
; Margie Smith and Miss Myra Adair.
Luncheon was served buffet style
in the- dining room, where a green
and white motif was observed. A
central arrangement of magnolias
flanked by lighted white tapers
adorned the table and elsewhere Ad
miral Byrd daisies were used. Places
were appointed for sixteen guests at
small tables which held bouquets re
sembling old fashioned nosegays of
roses and snapdragons. Designating
the bride-elect’s place was a corsage
j of pink roses. Throughout the receiv
ing rooms daisies, roses shading from
] pink to* red, and snajldragons were
used at vantage points.
• Miss Baldwin was remembered
with a gift of crystal.
